You know how All Point is all about ‘the power of numbers’? Well, we’ve got great news! Doug Larson, yet another new hire at All Point, has joined our team! Bringing with him an impressive background in the world of IT and data analysis, he joins us as a Senior Data Analyst.

From Yuma to Salt Lake City…and Beyond

Doug’s journey began in Yuma, AZ, and he was raised in the suburbs of Salt Lake City, UT, where he currently resides. However, his life has been an adventure that took across multiple locations, including Chicago, IL, Sacramento, CA, Ft. Collins, CO, Jacksonville, FL, Knoxville, TN, and even Edmonton, Canada. Doug particularly enjoyed Knoxville’s weather and appreciated the quality of life he experienced in Canada.

A New Role: Senior Data Analyst

In his new role at All Point Retail, Doug takes on the position of Senior Data Analyst. His mission is to bring world-class reporting to small and medium retailers, empowering them with the insights they need to thrive in a competitive landscape.

What Excited Doug About Joining All Point Retail?

When asked what excited Doug most about joining All Point, he was quick to answer. “I have so many years of data experience, and the opportunity to bring ‘big gorilla’ reporting to small and medium retailers is extremely motiving. For so many years, there’s been a huge difference between reporting and insights…and huge corporations were the only ones to get the latter. This has changed, and I’m all about helping our clients understand just how much.”

Goals for the Year Ahead

Doug has clear goals for his tenure at All Point. He aims to create custom reports that simplify data access for retailers, enabling them to save time, money, and maximize profits–with fewer resources and fewer headaches. His passion for leveraging data to drive actionable insights aligns perfectly with our mission.

Past Projects and Expertise

Doug brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles. Notably, he handled database reporting for CR England, the largest refrigerated trucking company in the United States. Additionally, Doug served as a Web Developer and Database Programmer for a cabin rental business in the Smoky Mountains of TN, giving him a deep understanding of the reporting needs of small businesses. His diverse skill set also includes ETL development, business intelligence, and data warehousing. Doug is proficient in databases, ranging from Microsoft SQL Server to Oracle, and he is skilled in using various development tools like C#, ASP.NET, and Qlikview.

A Hidden Talent

Only a hand full of people know this, but Doug once donned the role of an equipment manager for his university’s football team. Not only did it provide him with a one-of-a-kind insight into the sport, but it also showcased his sharp thinking—it gave him free sideline access to all home games! Now, that’s what we call a game-changer! 😉
